When did you first learn to drive a golf ball? Maybe you’re a beginner looking to pick up some quick advice, or maybe you’re the 30 year veteran that realizes a golfer is never truly finished with his swing. The drive is something golfers always work on, and so no matter who you are, it’s time to check out some golf driving tips.
My grandfather gave me a few pointers and helped me position myself to hit a good drive. He didn’t give me the full golf training camp version, but you know what I mean. I could never really drive the ball more than a little over 200 yards, but then again, I was a kid. That was a good enough drive, although it was also not so accurate every time. My chip shot was even worse.
At one point, I was told by my grandfather to use the putter for many of my chip shots, and sometimes I’d often never use an iron because of that suggestion. I did get to learning the irons later, but there were many times when I’d have to make two drives with the driver and then putt my way onto the green! How funny is that?
So if you’re looking for golf driving tips, my grandfather was good to a certain point. He taught me about the stance and how to grip the golf club. He corrected me many times as we played golf together, and I would get better and better. That is one thing that you can bank on is that by practicing golf driving tips, your game will get better.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you were driving the ball farther than your friends? What if your score dropped below what they were getting each time you guys played together? That would definitely be worth your time. I’ll tell you that it really pays off to pay attention the club you use as a driver. I like the drivers with the big club heads because they help me connect better. However, you have to feel comfortable with that driver when it comes to your stance.
Your back swing doesn’t need to look anything like you’re playing baseball, and it doesn’t need to be fast. Driving the golf ball is all about the right mixture of techniques, and power is only one of them. Moreover, power in a golf swing is achieved in many different ways. Are you ready to hit the driving range?
